This is the Ghost of Christmas Future from A Christmas Carol. It was written by Charles Dickens and published on the 19th December 1843.

I have tried to design the doll with the text in mind, but still making it a simple doll to knit:

'...the dusky shroud, there were ghostly eyes intently fixed upon him...'

'... a spectral hand and one great heap of black.'

The Ghost of Christmas Yet-To-Come, is knitted entirely in black, except the head. It wears a hood attached to the cloak. The head is knitted in white, with black eyes and a mouth.

This is the Ghost of Christmas Present from A Christmas Carol. It was written by Charles Dickens and published on the 19th December 1843.

I have tried to design the doll with the text in mind, but still making it a simple doll to knit:

'...clothed in one simple deep green robe, or mantle, bordered with white fur... breast was bare...'
The doll wears a green coat, sewn to the chest and a white bordered included.

'...on its head it wore no other covering than a holly wreath...'
This was quite a simple head dress to design, with red single stitches to represent the berries of the holly.

' Girded round its middle was an antique scabbard; but no sword was in it...'
I have made a simple twisted belt for this spirit.

Ghost of Christmas Past Doll - Scrooge - A Christmas Carol - Doll Knitting Pattern

Here is the Ghost of Christmas Past from A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. The doll is 13cms tall, knitted in Double Knitting Wool & Worked Flat.

This pattern would suit a Beginner.

This pattern can be bought as a PDF Digital Download from - Etsy, Folksy, Craftsy, Love Knitting, Craftsuprint, Makerist, & Ravelry.

This is the Ghost of Christmas Past from A Christmas Carol. It was written by Charles Dickens and published on the 19th December 1843.

I have tried to design the doll with the text in mind, but still making it a simple doll to knit:

'It wore a tunic of the purest white...'
The main body is made up of white, including the additional coat and arms.

'...its dress trimmed with summer flowers.'
I have included light yellow and green on the main body, coat and arms to indicate flowers.

'...the crown of its head there sprung a bright clear jet of light...'
In the book the hair is white, but I have kept the hair a vibrant yellow to represent light.

A belt and extinguisher cap are also mentioned, which I have included in the design.

A Christmas Carol is one of my favourite stories. It was written by Charles Dickens and was published on 19th December 1843.

I have tried to be as precise as possible with this doll, basing the design around the descriptions in the book and illustrations drawn during the Victorian times.

Scrooge wears a white nightgown, underneath a red dressing gown & red tie. Scrooge wears a detachable night cap.
